About This Place

Located in the heart of Staten Island at 1919 Hylan Blvd, Cafe Bella Vita Italian Restaurant offers a truly authentic Italian dining experience that delights all the senses. This charming establishment effortlessly blends the warmth of a traditional Italian trattoria with the sophistication of a contemporary eatery, making it a beloved destination for both casual meals and special occasions.

The menu is a celebration of Italian culinary artistry, featuring standout dishes crafted with fresh, high-quality ingredients and thoughtful preparation. Among the favorites are the tender Chicken Parmesan, perfectly breaded and baked to golden perfection, and the refreshing Caprese Salad bursting with ripe tomatoes, creamy mozzarella, and fragrant basil. For seafood lovers, the Filet of Sole offers a delicate, buttery finish, while hearty options like the Veal Genovese and the indulgent Baked Clams showcase rich, comforting flavors.

The pasta selections are equally impressive, with house specialties such as Rigatoni with Broccoli sautéed in virgin olive oil, and the luxurious Penne Alla Vodka tossed with prosciutto in a pink vodka sauce that is as silky as it is flavorful. If you’re looking for an à la carte entrée, the various chicken dishes stand out, especially the Chicken Milanese—pan-fried and served with a fresh mixed green salad—or the elegant Chicken Santa Elena sautéed with butter and lemon that perfectly balances richness with brightness.

Cafe Bella Vita’s dessert offerings complete the meal beautifully with Italian classics like Italian Cheesecake and the uniquely delightful Ice Cream Roll Cake. Their Cassata, a traditional Sicilian sponge cake layered with sweet ricotta, adds a touch of old-world charm to the dining experience.

Stepping inside, diners are immediately enveloped in a warm and inviting atmosphere. The elegant yet relaxed setting—with its tasteful décor and attentive service—creates the perfect backdrop for an intimate dinner or a joyous family celebration. Valerie Harris, a loyal patron, praises the restaurant as “a staple for our family,” highlighting the beautiful ambiance and impeccable service that make every visit memorable. The attentive waitstaff ensures that each guest feels welcomed and cared for, attending to every need with genuine warmth.

Another guest, JF Perez_Quijas, describes the food as “exceptionally fresh” with “elegant hints and impressive details that elevate the dining experience,” which reflects Cafe Bella Vita’s commitment to quality and culinary excellence. Portions here are generous, making it a great value — Yiyi Zhang notes that for $40, you receive an almost five-course meal, complete with bread, salad, appetizer, entrée, and dessert, offering a remarkably satisfying and lavish dining experience without breaking the bank.

For those who enjoy a more leisurely and conversational dining pace, the restaurant’s calm and cozy setting really shines. Judy Nardiello remarks on the relaxed atmosphere, especially enjoyed by mature diners who appreciate an unhurried evening. The location on the second floor is accessible by elevator, and the ample parking lot adds convenience to the overall visit.

Whether you are craving classic Italian flavors, celebrating a special occasion, or simply seeking a welcoming place to unwind with friends or family, Cafe Bella Vita Italian Restaurant stands out as a gem in Staten Island’s vibrant culinary scene. The authenticity of the cuisine, combined with exemplary service and an inviting ambiance, keeps guests returning time and again for a truly bella vita — a beautiful life.

The food here is great, and I would certainly find myself going back again and again - though I think that’s more a function of the price fixe menu than the food itself (which is not to say it’s bad, of course - just the fixed price menu is the draw for me).

This restaurant is a staple for our family. We love everything about this restaurant including the beautiful ambiance, delicious food and incredible service. The entire wait staff is always attentive and so pleasant throughout the meal. Whether you want an intimate meal or large family celebration, you could never go wrong by coming to this restaurant.

The portions were enormous and the place was surprisingly elegantly appointed for a place in a strip mall! For $40 we got essentially a 5 course meal: bread, salad, appetizer, entree, and dessert. Basically 2 whole meals for $40. Not too shabby! Their salmon with champagne sauce was quite good. Their tomatoes were unfortunately just so-so which is surprising given it was summertime when we dined. The "parfait" was literally just ice cream and the other desserts were pretty average as well. Clearly not a place that employs an Italian pastry chef. One of the waiters seemed very cranky to be there but the other staff were charming and lovely. Overall, great value!

always a nice experience. solid meal, fair prices...however, this isn't really a restaurant for the younger person. The evening I went at 65, I think I was one of the younger folks here, and that's not necessarily a bad thing. you can relax, have an unhurried dinner and conversation. Restaurant is located on the 2nd floor, but it has an elevator. fair sized parking lot.

Upscale but comfortable. Food was excellent as was the service.Lots of loyal customers. The full menu, ie., not ala carte, is very reasonable for all that u get. Several groups having parties when we were there on a Sunday.

I dined here for Thanksgiving dinner. Many times, holiday service is spotty. You don’t get a good representation of what a restaurant can offer when there is a holiday menu. I found their menu to have a lot of great options, including traditional Italian dishes, as well as traditional Thanksgiving fair. Most importantly, service was great. While the restaurant was quite crowded, the service was never hurried, rushed, or lacking. The wait staff was on point. The food was delicious. The atmosphere was relaxing, not too noisy or chaotic. Even the restrooms were immaculate. I met the owner and thanked her for a lovely Thanksgiving meal experience. We will be back to dine and try their regular menu one day soon. Highly recommend Café Bella Vita.

Very good price-fixed dinner, including an appetizer, salad, main course, dessert, and coffee. We started with baked clams and eggplant rollatini. For main courses, I had the sole francese; she had the almondine. For dessert, spumoni and Italian cheesecake, accompanied by Live piano music. Service is excellent!
